Every year, eligible members have the chance to receive a government contribution of 50 cents for every dollar they contribute between 1 July and 30 June , up to a maximum of $521.43. To enjoy this full benefit, you’ll need to contribute a minimum of $1042.86 into your KiwiSaver account by 30 June.
To be eligible, you must mainly be living in New Zealand. If you joined KiwiSaver for the first time, turned 18, or reached retirement age (65 years) partway through the KiwiSaver year, you’ll be eligible for a partial government contribution. This will be pro-rata based on the number of days you were an eligible member. There are a range of ways to make additional contributions, including:
Online banking: Most online banking platforms give you the option to make a deposit and one-off payments to your KiwiSaver account. The account and reference details to add to your payment are in your Aurora KiwiSaver portal, just click on the 'Make Contribution' button.
MyIR Portal: You can make payments to your KiwiSaver account through your myIR portal. Please follow the on-screen instructions to make a payment using your debit or credit card. For more information, please visit the IRD website.
